Technical Troubleshooting Guide

The great majority of technical issues on Thunder Wars can be resolved quickly using the steps below. We recommend working through them in order before contacting our support team, as this will often save you time.

Games Not Loading or Appearing Blank

If you navigate to Dragon's Voyage or another interactive module and see a blank screen, the most common cause is a cached version of the page conflicting with a recent update. Try the following: first, perform a hard refresh of the page (hold Shift and click the reload button, or press Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). If that does not resolve it, clear your browser's cache and cookies for the gamingthunderwars.com domain. In most browsers, this is found in Settings under Privacy or History. After clearing the cache, close and reopen your browser, navigate back to the game page, and try again.

If the issue persists, check whether you have any browser extensions that might be interfering — ad blockers, script blockers, and privacy extensions sometimes prevent game content from loading. Try temporarily disabling your extensions and refreshing the page. If the game loads after disabling an extension, you can either whitelist gamingthunderwars.com in that extension or use an alternative extension configuration.

Audio Not Working

If the game appears but you cannot hear any audio, first verify that your device's volume is not muted and that your system audio is functioning correctly in other applications. Next, check your browser's tab settings — many modern browsers allow you to mute individual tabs, and yours may have been accidentally muted. Look for a speaker icon in your browser's tab bar and click it to toggle the mute state. If you are using Chrome, you can also right-click the tab and select "Unmute site."

Some browsers require a user interaction before they will play audio on a newly loaded page. This is a browser security feature, not a Thunder Wars bug. Simply click anywhere on the game canvas once it has loaded — this interaction will allow the browser to enable audio. If audio still does not work after trying these steps, please contact us with details of your browser and operating system version.

Slow Performance or Lag

If games are running slowly or with noticeable lag, the issue is usually related to either your internet connection speed or your device's available processing resources. Start by checking your internet connection — try loading another website or running a speed test at speedtest.net to confirm your connection is performing normally. A minimum download speed of 5 Mbps is recommended for smooth play on Thunder Wars, though most of our modules perform well at lower speeds too.

If your connection is fine but performance is still poor, close any unnecessary browser tabs and applications running on your device. Digital entertainment can be resource-intensive, and freeing up RAM and CPU will often dramatically improve performance. If you are running a very old device, you may find that performance improves on a newer or more capable machine.

Display and Resolution Issues

If the game appears too small, too large, or does not fill the viewport correctly, try using the expand button within the Thunder Wars game viewer to switch to full-screen mode. You can also adjust your browser's zoom level (Ctrl+/- on Windows/Linux, Cmd+/- on Mac) to scale the page to your preference. For best results, we recommend using a zoom level of 100%.

On 4K and high-DPI displays, some games may appear slightly blurry due to how the browser renders scaled content. This is a known limitation of browser-based game technology at very high resolutions and is not a defect. Internet Explorer is not supported and has not been for several years. If you are using Internet Explorer, we strongly recommend upgrading to Microsoft Edge, which is free, fast, and available on all Windows computers.

Our platform requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser. JavaScript is enabled by default in all modern browsers. If you have manually disabled JavaScript, or if a browser extension is blocking scripts, our platform and games may not function correctly. Please ensure JavaScript is enabled before reporting a technical issue.

For hardware, any device manufactured in the last five to seven years should be capable of running Thunder Wars without issues. A minimum of 4 GB of RAM is recommended, though 8 GB or more will provide a noticeably smoother experience on devices where multiple applications are running simultaneously.

Accessibility Features

Thunder Wars is committed to making our platform accessible to users with a range of abilities. Our website supports full keyboard navigation — you can move through all interactive elements using the Tab key, activate buttons with the Enter or Space key, and close dialogs with the Escape key.
